Membership
Membership of FOBA is open to all those who are interested in the restoration and future of this Grade 1 listed Fort. Built in 1775, it guards the narrow western entrance to the Menai Strait which runs between the mainland and the Isle of Anglesey. Significant restoration work is vital if the Fort is to survive as an enduring part of Welsh heritage and to develop its potential as a centre for the pursuit of special interests, thus enhancing its benefit to the community.
The Chairman and the majority of Committee members have no financial interest in the Fort. All financial contributions made possible by the efforts of the Friends of Belan are directed by the Committee to specific projects chosen to restore and enhance the historical aspects of the Fort.
